Customer Service: Accessibility Standards

Did you know that barriers to accessibility are a daily reality for more than 200,000 Manitobans and that Canadians with disabilities have a buying power estimated at $40 billion? This seminar reviews the Accessibility for Manitobans Act, barriers to customer service and the Accessibility Standard for Customer Service. There are simple steps to help improve services for everyone and accessibility in customer service will help organizations or business meet the November 2018 compliance deadline.
Attendee will learn the following:
1. Benefits of Accessible Customer Service to businesses
2. Barriers addressed in the Accessible Customer Service Standard
3. Policies and practices required to comply with the Accessible Customer Service Standard
Patricia Knipe is a Policy Analyst at the Disabilities Issues Office where she works on public education and awareness related to accessibility legislation. Prior to joining the Disabilities Issues Office, she was a journalist for CBC Radio and Communications Director at the Manitoba Human Rights Commission.
