Getting Registered: The First Step in the Procurement Process

The Supplier Registration Information (SRI) system is a database of registered companies interested in selling to the federal government. By registering in SRI, you make your company’s name and supply capabilities widely known to federal departments and agencies, who may use the system to identify sources of supply for the goods and services they buy.

Learning Outcomes:
1. What is the Supplier Registration Information system and why should you register your business
2. Walk through creating an account for your business
3. Picking commodity codes and completing the registration process

La Vona Parker is a Procurement Specialist with the Office of Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of Canada and has extensive experience in government procurement and contracting. LaVona has been with the public service for 20 years and is passionate and dedicated to her role in serving Canadians.

Kris Ruiter is the Chief, Stakeholder Engagement, Office of Small & Medium Enterprises (OSME) of Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC). In his career, he has held a variety of positions within procurement for over 10 years and is part of the OSME team located in Calgary, Alberta.
