What is good governance? Organizations across Canada struggle with issues of governance and how to effectively make decisions and implement policies that benefit their organizations. This seminar will present a model of good governance and offer insights into organizational policy being practiced in the co-op sector. Examples will focus on Canadian co-operatives and the practical implications of strategic decisions.
Attendee will learn the following:
1. A model of good governance in organizations
2. Insights from the co-operative sector on how to overcome governance challenges
3. Practical tools that organizations can use to improve their governance
Kyle White is the Governance and Education Lead with Co-operatives First. Originally from Newfoundland and Labrador, Kyle has worked his way across Canada focusing on community economic development in rural and Indigenous communities. Aside from his work with Co-operatives First, Kyle serves on the board of several Saskatoon-based non-profits and charities.
