Immigration Information for Employers

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) and the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) will be hosting an information session for employers. The purpose of the session is to discuss how employers might use Canada’s economic immigration programs to meet labour market needs that cannot be met with Canadian workers. There will be a presentation on overseas recruitment, the MPNP employer direct process, work permits, LMIAs, and the provincial and federal economic immigration system, followed by a question-and-answer session.
Attendee will learn the following:
1. Options available to employers who wish to bring in global talent on a temporary basis
2. Options available to employers who wish to bring in global talent on a permanent basis through the Federal Government
3. Options available to employers who wish to bring in global talent on a permanent basis through the Provincial Government
Jim Bianchini is a university graduate who has worked with Manitoba immigration for the past 17 years. He has worked with Manitoba-based employers for many years to assist them in meeting their labour needs, both locally and internationally. Jim has also participated in and led several employer-driven recruitment missions to various countries in South America and Europe.
Susan Sunde is an Outreach Officer with Immigration Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)’s Dedicated Service Channel. Susan began her career with IRCC in 2009 as an Immigration Officer at the local office in Ottawa, Ontario. Subsequently, she accepted a two year secondment at Global Affairs Canada as the IRCC Liaison/Advisor at the Office of Protocol. In 2013, Susan started working in operations and has had several roles within the sector. Originally from and currently based in Regina after living in Ottawa for 16 years, Susan is happy to be back in the prairies.
