Presenter | Caroline Saunders, British Consul General in Calgary

Caroline is a career diplomat with diverse experience overseas and in London. Her most recent roles with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) were Head of Global Challenges and Innovation and Head of Global Low Carbon Growth.

She was Deputy Consul-General and Head of UK Trade and Investment (UKTI) in Brisbane, Australia and Political and Media Officer at the British High Commission in Kuala Lumpur. She has also worked at UKTI in London on trade strategy and for the UN Conference on Disarmament negotiations on chemical and biological weapons. Her first overseas posting was as Development Attache at the British High Commission in New Delhi.

 

Presenter | Usman Ghani, VP Inward Investments, America | Scottish Development International

Usman Ghani, Vice President for Scottish Development International, assists Western Canadian businesses establish a presence in Scotland. In his current role, Usman identifies and engages with potential inward investor companies from western Canada and also supports existing investors with their expansion projects in Scotland.

He has been with SDI for 4 years and has more than 10 years of experience in various technical and Program Management roles across multiple industries. He has an honours degree in Geological Engineering and holds an MBA.
