The following webinar is presented through a partnership between the World Trade Centre Winnipeg and The Winnipeg Chamber of Commerce.
Presenter: Jamie Jurczak, Taylor McCaffrey LLP
With the recent COVID-19 restrictions on non-essential businesses now relaxing, employers are grappling with the issue of how to safely and legally return their employees to the workplace after what may have been a period of closure or layoffs. Many workplaces may also be deemed essential, but find themselves in a situation where employees are refusing to come to the workplace in light of fears surrounding COVID-19. This session will provide guidance to employers to assist them in meeting their legal obligations relating to ensuring a safe and healthy workplace in the current climate.
Attendess will learn:
1. Best practices for companies returning to their facility/office
2. Creating a healthy workplace that abides by federal and provincial legislation
3. When do individuals have the right to refuse unsafe work?
