Tax Considerations
November 24, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 10:00 am
FreeThis webinar is part of the E-Commerce Series presented under the Roots & Recovery Program and brought to you in partnership with Tech Manitoba.
Presenter: Kevin Code, CPA, CGA, Talbot & Associates
Even if starting an e-commerce business may seem simple, there are several things you might not have taken into account. Navigating GST or the different equipment you can buy and claim with your tax return is not always straightforward. Planning ahead to better understand the taxes you will be responsible for will give you a better start and save you money.
Attendees will learn:
1. We will discuss the pieces to put in place before and after starting an online business
2. What expenses will you be able to claim from taxes
3. How to handle GST when selling to customers outside of Manitoba or Canada
Kevin has been part of the team at Talbot & Associates since January 2013 and is currently one of the two partners leading the tax department. Kevin graduated from the Business Administration Program at Red River College in 2009 and has been working in public practice ever since. While working full time, Kevin also completed his CPA, CGA designation and received a commerce degree from Laurentian University in 2015. In 2020, he finished the additional 3-year CPA In-Depth Tax program. Kevin’s philosophy is that he would always like to treat others the way that he would like to be treated. These values are evident in Kevin’s interactions with each person he comes into contact with. He is most excited to help clients achieve their goals in business and in life.
