There are 2 (two) positions currently available at the World Trade Centre Winnipeg.

Job Title: Trade Advisor
Salary: Based on experience
Full-time position

We are seeking an experienced Trade Advisor who will be proactive in reaching out to Manitoba businesses and providing guidance, information and contacts to assist them in pursuing global trade and investment opportunities. The successful candidate will bring to the World Trade Centre Winnipeg a solid business experience in the private sector, thus having a very good understanding of international trade, sales management, export readiness, risk management and marketing as well as knowledge of both the rural and urban business landscapes.

The responsibilities of the successful candidate will be:
• To help Manitoba businesses reach their corporate goals through strategic data, locating business opportunities, and connecting businesses with potential Canadian and international partners.
• Manage a list of accounts and conduct follow ups to provide one-on-one support to companies in all business sectors aspiring to grow their business.
• Provide information on global markets and current trends in various industries
• Provide individual client support and in-depth assessment in a company’s trade readiness and advisory services on issues such as export planning and market entry strategies and financing options
• Conduct market research using public and private databases
• To lead trade missions welcoming foreign delegations to Manitoba and to coordinate working sessions between participating businesses (Business-to-Business).

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Post-secondary education in international business or related discipline or equivalent combination of business-related education and/or experience would be considered
• 2+ years working in a related field would be an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Hands on experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software would be an asset
• Is a strong relationship builder and communicator, enjoys meeting people and is proficient at collaborating with others
• Possesses effective communication skills (written and verbal)
• Proficiency in both of Canada’s official languages is a definite asset.

Job Title: Business Advisor (bilingual position)
Salary: Based on experience
Full-time position

We are seeking a Business Advisor who will be responsible for providing information and resources to individuals looking to start, grow or expand their business.

The responsibilities of the successful candidate will be:

  • Be the first point of contact for clients looking to start up, grow or expand their business by providing assistance by phone, in–person or via email
  • Provide information packages on finance, funding and grants or other information for starting and managing a business
  • Entering information regarding the client in the database software (CRM)
  • Keep track of the assistance and time provided to each client research requests
  • Conduct market research on target market studies using private and public databases
  • Ensure the general information packages are up-to-date

Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Business Administration certificate or equivalent combination of business-related education and/or experience is an asset
  • 2+ years working in a related field is an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Hands on experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software would be an asset
  • Fluency in both French and English is a definite asset (spoken and written)
