Overview of the CITP® designation
The Forum for International Trade Training (FITT) offers the only national professional designation that recognizes an individuals’ experience in international trade. The Certified International Trade Professional (CITP®) designation is the highest level of professional accreditation for international business and trade professionals in Canada.
A CITP® must meet rigorous education, training, and experience requirements and make a commitment to adhere to the Standards of Ethical Conduct established by FITT. Today, CITPs across Canada bring increased accountability and recognition to the international business and trade profession.
Requirements for the CITP® designation
- Earn the FITT Diploma by completing all six FITTskills courses
- Complete three years of full-time work experience in international trade
- Agree to abide by the CITP® standards of ethical conduct
- Pass the CITP® Professional Exam
