As part of FITTSkills for Manitoba Powered by World Trade Centre Winnipeg, the Feasibility of International Trade course will help you ensure the success of new international ventures by knowing and following the critical steps. Improve your bottom line by properly analyzing your organizational readiness and correctly identifying promising opportunities.
Course Modules
Determine your organization’s readiness for new markets and find exciting opportunities for growth through market research.
Make a profit and keep your international ventures successful by analyzing the numbers to develop the action plan you need.
Minimize financial losses, wasted time, and any negative impact on customers by planning to manage and mitigate the risks your business faces.
What You’ll Learn
- Decide whether new international opportunities are viable by conducting thorough research and analysis
- Make smarter decisions by assessing your organizational readiness for new international trade initiatives
- Find the best potential import and/or export ventures for your business with effective market research using the right types of data
- Ensure your company remains profitable by conducting cost-benefit analyses for importing or exporting potential products and services
- Mitigate possible risks by developing and implementing strategies and activities to monitor and manage them
Session Dates
Four sessions, each from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
- Session 1 – Thursday, January 16th
- Session 2 – Thursday, January 23rd
- Session 3 – Thursday, January 30th
- Session 4 – Thursday, February 6th

CAD $600.00 + GST

Meet the Instructor

Carolynn Osborn
A post-graduate instructor at the Manitoba Institute of Trades and Technology, Carolynn Osborn brings over 30 years of experience in trade and trade policy to this role as instructor for FITTskills for Manitoba Powered by World Trade Centre Winnipeg.
Carolynn retired from government in 2023, after over 30 years in public life, in roles that supported interprovincial and international trade. She spent four years as Chief Negotiator for the Government of Manitoba for domestic and international trade agreements, supervising staff responsible for domestic free trade agreement negotiations and labour mobility for the Province of Manitoba and defending Manitoba programs in trade disputes. She provided expert advice on trade policy to ensure actions across the whole of government were in compliance with existing obligations under trade agreements.
Carolynn also served as Senior Trade Policy Consultant, Manager of Agriculture Policy and Senior Policy Economist.
Carolynn holds a Master’s in Science and Agricultural Economics and Farm Management (with a major in transportation) from the University of Manitoba.
