What’s the Big Idea?

What’s the Big Idea is an annual event for local entrepreneurs to pitch their business ideas in front of an audience, connect with various sponsors and expert, and listen to entrepreneurs share their stories. It’s hosted in Neepawa, MB and organized by Marilyn Crewe, Economic Development Officer for the Town of Neepawa.WTCW heard many great presentations, including those from mayor Blake McCutcheon, Don Pollock of Northstar Seeds, Andrew Tse of Futurpreneur, Brenda Swaenepoel from MNP, Marlies Soltys of Inspire Studio and more!
The pitches were fantastic to hear, including but not limited to Porrok Repair Service and The Garlic Guys.Every entrepreneur that got to pitch their idea took a great deal of pride in their preparation. One of the key takeaways from this event is the power of community support. Every business there made an effort to emphasize power and importance of having a strong support system, Family, friends, mentors, business groups, and experts. It really takes a group effort to build something worthwhile – and make the journey much more enjoyable!
